There are 3 phases to every turn. The CD Phase, The Action Phase, and the End Phase.

CD Phase- Lower all CD affecting you by one. If a CD timer wasn't 0 before your turn started then you can't use it this turn.
Action Phase- Decide what to use your Attack action and secondary action on.
End Phase- Declare which actions you aren't going to use and end your turn as well as how much chi you have left and what and how many abilities and items you have on CD, as well as what row you end your turn in.

All that's done in the CD Phase is any CD, or buffs, or Debuffs that need to be counted down are done here. All things affecting you that have a CD mechanic are lowered by one point in the CD Phase. Remember that a CD timer needs to be at 0 BEFORE your turn in order to use an ability that was on cooldown.

In the Action phase you get 2 different actions. The Attack action and a Secondary action. Most of your Skill specific abilities require an attack action to use. And all of the general actions require a secondary action. Like moving, or using an item. An Attack action can be replaced with another secondary action but not the other way around. So i could take 2 move actions in one turn, but i wouldn't be able to attack.

The End Phase is when you declare the end of your turn and how many if any actions you decide to leave on standby. Actions on standby are unused actions that you want to use when it's not your turn. Unused actions are lost on your CD Phase. Most actions that you will take when it's not your turn require secondary actions so you could attack and leave one action on standby to respond to your opponents actions. It is encouraged to keep track of all your abilities and items on CD in your End Phase post so that your opponent can plan accordingly. Remember to state which row you end your turn in as well.

How an attack works- There are at least 3 parts to an attack. The first is the declaration and using the appropriate action. Then comes the response. This is your opponents reply to your declaration. This will be a time when they can respond with an item or ability of their own or decide to let you attack them. Then comes the resolution. If an attack is successfully made without being interrupted or negated then it is resolved and you can then roll the attack dice that will determine if you hit your opponent. If the attack hits then your opponent must lower their health by the determined amount which can be changed in your character profile. This of course won't show up until you refresh your page, but you should be doing that very often anyway. In order to play the game correctly you should probably have 3 windows open. One is the fight itself, the other is for the equipment, items, and ability description of you and your opponent, last is your character profile so you can readily make changes from damage and spending chi. Remember to update your CD and chi in everyone of your End Phases. And to update your health every time you take damage. This will allow you and your opponent to have the most accurate information possible during the game.
